Part of Microsofts great聽big overhaul to Windows 10 finally includes some major changes to Bluetooth support and audio endpoints. These changes are now live in the latest Windows 10 af1 Insider preview build, reports The Verge. The bigger of the two changes involves adding support for the Advanced Audio Codec AAC over Bluetooth. Currently, Windows only supports SBC and AptX over Bluetooth, and anyone with a pair of Apples headphones knows AAC is the default compression codec for those devices. Its a compressed, lossy format to create small file sizes, and its the most popular consumer audio format. Many think AAC makes music sound a bit better, too, since its a great codec for streaming music. Image: Microsoft Other Microsoft is also cleaning up how it displays audio endpoints. Instead of seeing the same audio device listed multiple different ways, Windows 10 will now unify them into a single audio endpoint. Hurricane Florence is the biggest threat in the Atlantic right now, but its hardly the only storm. The tropics have gone wild, with three hurricanes spinning at the same time, as you can see for yourself in satellite imagery captured as the sun rose on the Atlantic Monday morning. In addition to rapidly-strengthening Florence which just hit Category 3 status , Helene and Isaac became hurricanes on Sunday. More than 2,000 miles separates the three hurricanes so the only nike dunk high way to view them all together is from space. Luckily, theres a way to do that thanks to GOES 16. The next generation satellite was launched last year with the express intent of improving our view of hurricanes to improve forecasts. But it also provides one hell of a view to the public, showing what our planet is capable of from a vantage point of more than 22,000 miles above the Earths surface. GOES 16 also has the ability to zoom in on specific hurricanes, providing close-up vie adidas samba ws that are equal parts beautiful and harrowing. The National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration released imagery on Monday showing the sun rise over the eye of hurricane Florence. This past weekend, hundreds of thousands of people were evacuated in anticipation of a potential spillway failure at the Oroville dam. Images from space show what the area in northern California looked like during last years drough salomon t, and how it appeared after a spate of intense rain, at the height of the recent breach scare. The two images, captured by the Copernicus Sentinel-2A satellite, were taken 40 days apart, and together tell a st adidas campus 80s ory of dramatic environmental change. During the drought, vast tracts of exposed shoreline were visible, including a batch of islands just north of the 770-foot 235 meter dam. But in late January, after heavy rains, the shorelines shrunk, and the islands became submerged. Looking at the animation, the color of the water appears lighter during the drought, but much darker in January owing to sediment washed into the dam. The city of Oroville, home to 16,000 residents, can be seen at bottom left. The images also show the primary and auxiliary spillways at the dam. The animation shows water gushing down the primary spillway, which eventually experienced a failure at its lower levels. Because the auxiliary spillway had never been used before, a dunks nd due to the tremendous amount of water spilling into it, officials feared a total collapse of the dam system, resulting in the evacuation order earlier this week.
